How to Prepare for Your Personal Family Legal Session?
In your Personal Family Legal Session, you will embark on a comprehensive journey to ensure your estate planning aligns with your personal goals and family needs. To have an effective meeting we ask that you tell us some basic information about yourself and family by completing a personal inventory. During your Personal Family Legal Session, the attorney will review the personal inventory with you and ask you about your goals and specific needs. The attorney will then provide options meet your needs and quote a flat fee to get started.

What Should You Bring to the Meeting?
Bring any existing estate planning documents. This includes your trust and/or last will and testament, health care power of attorney, living will, and/or durable financial power of attorney. Your attorney will review these documents to ensure they meet your family's needs and comply with the latest laws..
What to Expect in Your Personal Family Legal Session?
The meeting will begin by reviewing your personal inventory and discussing your needs with the attorney. The attorney will then provide some options and quote a flat fee. If you are ready to get started they will collect the first half of the payment and then the remainder of the time will be spent completing the drafting instructions together.
A few days later, you will receive a link via email to review and confirm the drafting instructions, which is the details of your estate plan, including the legal names of beneficiaries and agents.
After you approve the drafting instructions a review meeting will be scheduled (usually 2-3 weeks out). Draft copies of the documents will be made available before the meeting, but the attorney will review the moving parts with you during the review meeting. The review meeting can be virtual or in real life. The goal of the review meeting is to have all of the documents finalized and ready to sign.
Once the documents are signed, we offer a complimentary Trust Asset Coordination Session to guide you in transferring your assets into the trust. This process is commonly referred to as "funding your trust." and involves retitling accounts to be owned by the trust and updating beneficiaries on retirement accounts and life insurance to make sure the goals of the estate plan are achieved. Rilus Law typically handles the transfer of Arizona Real Estate into your trust. This session ensures your assets are properly aligned with your plan, providing peace of mind that your loved ones are protected.
The signing meeting can be completed in one of our offices if they are convenient for you. It is recommended to sign in our office so we can provide the required notary and witnesses and to show you all of the pages that need to be signed. If you are not close to an office we can mail you all of the documents marking all of the places that need to be signed, notarized and witnessed.
